Vanuatu Charity Trip
The Ideal Air team recognises how fortunate we are to live, work and thrive in our local communities here in Australia. We recognise that not everyone is as fortunate as us, which is why we believe that it’s important to give back. We see it as part of our social responsibility to try to find ways to assist those who would benefit from our support.
Redlands College in Queensland facilitates mission trips where students spend two weeks overseas collaborating with local communities. A recent project involved building a multi-purpose dormitory base in Vanuatu. For students, this was not only an opportunity to engage with the local community, but also a chance to gain perspective on how life in Australia differs from other places in the world.
In October, the Ideal Air team travelled to Port Vila with a group of expert tradesmen to support Redlands College on their Vanuatu dormitory building initiative. The team volunteered their time, and brought much-needed skills and expertise to the project. Through great collaboration, these highly skilled tradesmen were able to exceed project expectations, and achieve world class results in just five days. The project will benefit the community for decades to come.
In the final two days of the trip, everyone got the opportunity to immerse themselves in the local sights and culture of Vanuatu. Everyone involved in the project left with a feeling of gratitude and privilege to have been included in the initiative.
Ideal Air aims to make these charitable trips every year. We are currently considering possible future initiatives in Vanuatu as well as Cambodia, the Cook Islands, and the Solomon Islands.
If you would like to make a contribution to future trips, or to these projects directly, know that your support makes a big difference to people in need. Please contact our offices to find out more information.
